Is Throne Safe and Anonymous for Fans?
:quality(70))
Thinking about gifting a creator on Throne? Here's exactly what the creator sees, what stays private, and how to gift anonymously.
Quick answer: Yes. Throne is safe for fans, and you can gift anonymously. Creators never see your email or payment details. They only see the gifter name you choose, which can be anything or nothing at all, plus an optional message.
You found a creator you love, you clicked their Throne link, and now you're wondering what happens on the other side of checkout. Totally fair question. Here's exactly what gets shared, and what doesn't.
Is Throne anonymous for fans?
Yes, toward the creator. When you gift on Throne, the creator never sees your email address or your payment details. You pick the gifter name that shows up with your gift. That can be your real name, your username, an inside joke, or nothing at all.
The only things the creator sees are the name you choose and your optional gift message. That's it.
One honest note: anonymous to the creator doesn't mean anonymous to Throne. Like any store, Throne needs your payment info to process the gift. It just never passes it along to the creator.
What does the creator see when I send a gift?
Shared with the creator | Never shared with the creator |
|---|---|
The gifter name you choose (or none) | Your email address |
Your optional gift message | Your payment details |
The gift itself | Anything you don't type into the name or message fields |
Privacy goes both ways, too. You'll never see the creator's address or delivery details either. Throne ships the gift straight to them.
Can my gift show up on stream?
It can. Many streamers connect Throne to stream alerts, so your gift pops up live with your gifter name and message. Lots of fans love that moment.
If you'd rather stay low-key, leave the name blank or use something that isn't tied to you, and skip anything personal in the message.
Is Throne a legit website?
Yes. Throne was founded in 2021, and in 2024 TechCrunch reported that it was profitable and had paid its investors back. Fans in 170+ countries send gifts on Throne, to creators in 130+ countries.
It's also been covered as the privacy-first option when Amazon changed its Wish List rules in 2026. TechSpot pointed to Throne as the kind of service creators were moving to after the update.
How do I send a gift on Throne?
Open the creator's Throne link. It usually lives in their bio, link-in-bio, or Twitch panels.
Pick a gift from their wishlist: a product, a cash gift, a gift card, or a chip-in toward a crowdfunded item.
At checkout, choose your gifter name (or leave it blank) and add an optional message.
Pay. Throne handles the order and shipping from there.
You'll see a fee at checkout. That's the cost of Throne handling the order privately, and it's shown before you pay.
